Tim Klempnauer started
gymnastics in High School taking 1st
place on PH his senior year. In Jr. College (Pasadena) he placed 4th on PH at the National
Championships. He received a full scholarship to Cal State Fullerton and
placed 2nd on PH at the Pac 10 Championships in 1984.
He has been coaching
gymnastics since 1981 and was the
owner of US Gymnastics Training Center in So Cal for 16 years before selling to (and working for) Eduard Azarian in
2005. In 2015 he moved up to Reno as the Boys Head Team Coach for High Sierra Gymnastics.
He has received many awards
including the “Frank Cumiskey Award”
in 2003. This is the highest award in the USA Men’s Junior Olympic Program
given to one person each year for their contribution to Men’s Gymnastics. He
was voted “Coach of the Year” for
Southern California 4 times (1993,
2009, 2010, & 2012). His team has won the “Iron Man Award” (for the best
overall program in Southern California) 5 times (1986, 1993, 2010, 2011, & 2012).
He has helped coach many
gymnasts onto Jr National Teams as well as All Around and Event National

He has held many positions in
the USA Men’s Gymnastics Community. He was a member of the USA Gymnastics Board of Directors from 2003-2008 and then the
Advisory Committee to the USAG Board of Directors from 2008-2015. He was the Region 1 Chairman and member of the Jr.
Olympic Program Committee from 1998-2000. He was the State Chairman of So Cal
from 1989-1993 & 1995-1998. He is currently the Nevada State Chairman (since 2015). He was President of the USA Men’s Gymnastics Association from 2003-2015.
He has also been on many
committees throughout his 35+ years of coaching. He is currently on the USA Age Group Competition Committee
(AGCC) 2013-2016 & 2017-2020. He is a member of the USA Compulsory Writing Committee (PH) for this this quad (2017-2020)
as well as the previous quad 2013-2016. He has also been a member of the Jr. Olympic National Championships Format
Committee (on and off) over the last 25 years.
He has hosted and helped out
at many gymnastics events and is one of the best Event Directors in the men’s
community. He was on the USA Gymnastics Event Staff from 2003-2008 helping out
at the 2003 World Gymnastics
Championships (in Anaheim) as the Training
Gym Manager. He has been the co-Meet
Director for the USA Men’s Jr.
Olympic National Championships 5
times: 1991 (Fullerton), 2002, 2004 (San Diego), 2011, & 2014 (Long
Beach)! He has been the Meet Director
(and co-Meet Director) for the Region 1
Championships 9 times: 2015 (Ontario), 2017, 2013, 2012, 2008 (Reno), 2010
(San Diego), 2005 (Del Mar), 1989 (Laguna Niguel).
He has also been a Nationally rated Judge since 1986 (over
30 years). He earned his FIG Judges
rating from 1997-2000 during which he judged the USA Senior Championships (currently
P&G’s) in 1997 & 1998 (both on PH). He also judged at the USA vs. Germany International Junior
Duel meet in 1997.
He has been a presenter at the USA Gymnastics Congress
(2016 on PH) as
well as at many of the Men’s New JO Program Workshops in 2012 and again in
2016. He has also presented at the USA Men’s National Coaches Workshop in
